At the moment I'm just a small-shop hobbyist with the hopes of making it more... I think (more about that later). I've been workin' with the wood since I was a little one, but never really had a shop or tools to call my own. I bought a house over 3 years ago and I've slowly converted my 22'x11' detached garage into my own personal shop (more about this in the "Shop" section).
Because of my shop size, I haven't turned out anything larger than a side table, which is fine, since I don't have the room in the house for anything larger.
I'm the type of guy, like many others I'm sure, that can't help but inspect a piece of furniture or whatever to see how it's made. My father's a woodworker by trade and I used to laugh at the way he'd inspect table whenever we went into restaurants. Like father like son.
I mentioned above that I *think* I'd like to take my passion for woodworking to another level sometime. The reason for the hesitation is that I've heard of others that once enjoyed WW, but lost some, if not all, of their passion once they turned it into something that would put bread on their table. I'm sure it's not the same for everyone, but something for me to be aware of as I make those life decisions.
Well, that's all for now... I'm sure I'll update this at time moves on. Cheers.

Hi John. Thanks for the “hello”. I checked out your site. Those are VERY impressive. How long does it take to build and average size birdhouse?
