Solid Jointer

Solid Jointer

After several weeks of debate, I decided to go with General International for my jointer. I seriously considered going with Grizzly for a jointer, most of the reviews I’ve read about them are very positive, and it sounds like their customer service is second to none. The deciding factor though was having a General dealer in town, so if anything goes wrong or if I have questions it would be easy to get help. The jointer was a display model, so it was already assembled and cleaned. The ...

Ok base for price

Ok base for price

Bought this yesterday for my TS; was on sale for $65 at my local tool store, regular $95. It took me about 2 hours to assemble, and a lot of fiddling to get it to be the correct size. The instructions are fairly detailed, but neglect to mention to size the base 1/2” larger than the size of the tool you are mounting on it, due to the lip on the stand. Assembly was relatively pain free; it involved attaching the extension wing, the fence guide bars and the plug; overall about 3h worth of work. The fence needed a very slight adjustment to be parall...

General International 10-105M1 1.5 hp Dust Collector

General International 10-105M1 1.5 hp Dust Collector

I bought this dust collector a few weeks ago after much research into dust collection units. Ideally, I’d loved to have been able to afford the cost (in money and shop space) of a cyclone dust collector, but it wouldn’t have fit into my budget or 13×22’ garage. Initially I was interested in the Delta 50-760 after reading some good reviews, however the owner of the local tool store convinced me that the General was a better unit from what he’d heard from his custom...
