I have been creating lamps and other items from mountain laurel branches and roots for over 40 years. Since I was a child, I've been fascinated by the intricate twisty shapes it grows in, and I spend hours wandering the woods behind my CT home and NY cabin looking for the perfect piece. It's difficult to work with; failed pieces go in the kindling box, but the successful ones make it worth the effort.
