Quarter Sawn Red Oak - 27 replies
I have ran short on a project I am working on and need 8) 10” x 20” x 1” boards to finish the project and all of my local sources around Springfield MO are out of quarter sawn red oak. I’m sure it’s a long shot but thought I would see if any of you lumberjocks have a few boards you could part with?

I was just perusing the net wishing for a new sliding miter saw when I came across the 909 10” sliding miter saw on the Sears website. It seemed pretty reasonably priced for a dual bevel saw but I have never heard of 909 Tools before. Anyone know anything about them? Who makes them? Are they reliable? etc. etc. Greg

Well I got a really good deal on a used Jet JJ-6CS jointer that I found on Craigslist. I guess the old saying that a good thing is too good to be true still applies. Whenever I am edge jointing a piece of Oak the machine shuts off in the middle of the cut. I am thinking this might be the switch going bad or maybe it has a thermal overload of ...

I bought a 14” band saw on craigslist for a rediculous good price but the label says it was manufactured by tools exchange. I have not been able to find anything on the net about this company. It looks very similar to the 14” delta band saws or even grizzly so I figured it might be an off brand built in the same factory as a name b...
