Well,
Pending verification from our family doctor, it appears that my next project will be a baby crib. Yep, the wife took a home test today and it says “positive”. If all is well, this will be number 2 and I can’t wait. Aside from this great news, we are in the process of getting our house ready to sell. Might be some new shop space in my future. Things should be pretty crazy around here in a few months. But, as least I get to take to wife to the hardwood supplier to pick out some crib material. Any suggestions on wood type????? Nothing too dark, and though I really like it, looks like walnut is the cut off. As things progress, I will post progress pix (the crib, not the wife)

Congrats as well, I vote for cherry, it’ll continue to warm as it ages and it will definitely become an heirloom.

I just made a crib for my best friend about a year and a half ago. I used maple for most of it with the exception of the bottom, which was birch ply.
I’ll post some pics soon. Congrats!

Thanks everyone, I have kind of been leaning towards cherry as well, and maybe trying to incorporate some maple or other “blond wood” as accents. I suppose the final decision will come down to what momma wants though….haha

Congrats. I would go for Cherry, with maple being my next choice.
