Well this is truly a project of “necessity is the Mother of all invention”.
We have been riding sidecars since our kids were little (now 14,14,15) We started out with 2 seaters because 3 small children could fit in a 2 seater…. When they grew bigger we were in trouble. There is really only one company in the world that makes a true 3-4 seat model and they only make about 3 a yr and run about $8000. I am way to cheap to buy one so after about a yr of planning and then 3 months of building we were rolling. I hate sidecars really as they feel like driving a big boat and you lose the “motorcycle feel” but I want our kids to be part of the fun and they love riding too. Wow they grow up fast. This one has been on the road 3 yrs now and we cant hardly stop for gas because someone almost always walks over and starts asking questions…. Well I added a second gas tank so we can stop less often for gas. Bike gets 40 mpg without the rig but only 20-25 with the car attached and If its really windy we take the car. LOL
