I just made my newest Buddy, the same way I almost always do: Someone I don’t know comments on something I, or one of my existing Buddies, posts, I visit the stranger’s page, and make a new Buddy. She’s number ninety-nine, for me. Interesting factoid: In her comment, she mentioned, in response to my mention of Dad’s ninetieth birthday, that her Aged P turned ninety-eight on the same day. I’m just saying. She’s in the cold, cold North (Wisconsin). And I can relate: The temperature, here, has plummeted, (plummeted, I say) to below fifty F. Brrrrrrr. I’m wearing two sweatshirts and a hat with the hood to the outer sweatshirt pulled up over it.

Mark,

It’s 50’s in November here in Balmy Southern MN. Only a few of those days left. As time permits I’ll be doing a frame and roof on my wood/tractor shed. Been too wet, which is also unusual.

Good to find friends! LOL!

Back in the eighties, I lived in Montana (for less than a year). I lived, and worked, from October into January, on a ranch. I fed cattle in -40 blizzards. I walked out into that environment, well before sunrise (sun? What sun?), set out on foot to bring in a small herd of milk cattle to the barn and commence pulling teets. Then, I went out, riding on the back of a hay truck, to give a thousand head of beeves their breakfast. It was cold. It was very cold. But, seriously, I was so much tougher, then. This morning, when I went in the house to go to bed about 3AM, it was 45 degrees above zero, and I was freezing my giblets off. Southern California, man. Never gonna leave here again.

So, it’s warming up, Tony. I got my 100th Buddy yesterday. He’s one of the steller examples of Practitioners of the Wooden Arts, CharlieK. And he initiated the Buddidome. I’m so honored. You were my first, you know.
