New Table Saw on Order

Well, I just ordered a Laguna Fusion F2 table saw. I caught it on sale at 10% off and no sales tax. Shipping was just $75 to my driveway with lift gate service.

Ended up with a cabinet style hybrid with a 36” fence and cast iron extensions. I only have 110V in my garage shop so I had to stick with 1 & 3/4 horsepower saw. I think I’ll be happy with this and it will fill my hobbyist needs. It has all of the features I was looking for. The 36” fence seems like a happy medium between the common 30” fence saws and the full 52” variety. I don’t have much need for cutting a full size sheet of plywood but on those rare occasions that I need to I’ll use a track saw.

I plan to use my workbench as an out feed table along with some Harbor Freight roller stands. I haven’t decided if I want to add an extension table or a router table to the saw. I may just leave the saw in the stock configuration. Once it arrives I’ll set it up n the garage then organize things around it. The current plan is to put it about 3-4 feet inside the rollup garage door and feed wood into the garage. I’ll run it that way for a while then decide if I want to reverse it and feed wood out into the driveway.

Laguna has a series of 18 videos covering unboxing, setup and tuning. They are for the previous version of the saw but should be close enough to the newer configuration that setup should be easy. I’ll post lots of pictures once I take delivery on the saw. I can’t wait to start making sawdust.

Great deal, happy table sawing

Marshall – Congrats on your choice and for taking the plunge. I’m on the same boat with you and awaiting delivery of my Fusion F2, also with the 36” table. I was surprised that with some internet surfing, I could save a few hundred bucks by finding dealers with the sales price AND free or reduced shipping. I ended up buying from BIS in St. Louis (I’m in Florida) and avoided sales tax. The unit ships from the manufacturer, so it’s the same, just savings. Of course I’ve already spent those “savings” on other toys….

Also, I agree that the 18 videos that Laguna has on YouTube on the saw are exceptional and show step-by-step what to do, from unpacking, to more.

I’ll be watching here for more on your experiences.

Hi Bruce,

The assembly was even easier than the videos as the cast iron extensions are already attached on th F2 so it’s mainly attach the fence and the accessories.

I’m in the Jacksonville area, how about you?

Good to hear that. Have you checked for things like the table bring flat? I had been looking at the Delta 36-5100 but got turned off (more like “scared”) of all the reports of bent tables and negative customer service.

I’m in Lady Lake a few hours south of yo u, and just retired from Virginia.

How long did delivery take for you?

My table was flat but the right side extension was a tad high so I had to loosen the bolts and adjust it. No big deal.

Took mine just a tad ver 3 weeks but I knew when I ordered that there was a waiting period. It came via UPS and the delivery gorl droped t inside my garage via a pallet jack.

I was looking at a Delta too but decided to step up to the F2. I’m glad I did.
