My workshop is really a “garage” according to the Historical Society, but there is rarely if ever a car near it. I built a lot of it myself, but had to get some help with complicated things. It’s as finished as we can afford right now, and it keeps my tools safe and dry, so I’m happy. Next step: electricity. I’m running off of two HD drop cords from the house. Works find with lights and one tool, but I’ve learned with the addition of a dust collector, that I have to have a dedicated electrical service if I’ll ever be able to use it.
The shop is 16×24 with a concrete floor. The back 12 feet have rafters 10 feet from the floor, the front half is open to the ceiling so that I’ve been able to make a “loft” for wood storage and other things that find their way in there that don’t belong (I’m not blaming my wife, but I’m just sayin’)
Pictures to come. For now I have one in progress pic from 2/2009.
