Here is the pciture that my wife and I picked for the starting point for the design for the crib.

What do you think?

Here is a few versions of the headboard. Votes on which one you would use. I believe that I will be making it out of Cherry with maple accents.

It will be shaker style with an applied trim molding which I think will be maple. Picture below.

The slats in the front may be flat and ~ 1-1/2” wide and possibly maple as well, but I don’t know if that will be too much contrast to the cherry. Any ideas?

#1 is ok, i’m drawn to #2, 3 looks too busy. You might try to finish a couple pieces of maple and cherry and see how they look together. For even more of a contrast, you could consider walnut slats.

I am with Tim on this one. Either #1 or #2 look fine to me but #2 would be the one I would design if I were doing the build. As far as the contrast goes, maple and cherry is my favorite combination so I think it would be just fine to have a cherry frame and maple slats.

I love this crib! I vote for #2 also.
