Hello All,
I am going to start building my own homemade thickness drum sander. I have almost purchased all my parts and will start construction soon. I am documenting this process through pictures and video. It will be a little while before it is finished, but I will have pictures up of the progress, hopefully within a couple weeks!

Thanks, Dennis. The funny thing is, this has already been almost a two year project… long story, but I will keep you all updated. I do have a detailed list of all the parts, price, etc., so it will be worthwhile if you are looking to do something of the same in the future. My desire is to have this homemade one compete in production quality with the expensice ones. Of course, if I had $3500 to spend, I would just go to Powermatic or Woodmaster and buy one!

I have it mind :-) even have the drum for it , one excactly the same as I brought with me to Mafe (Mads)
in Copenhagen
http://lumberjocks.com/topics/21251
and I think you will agree (after reading ) DON`T SKIP A L J MEETING….LOL

but I´ll proppebly only build it as a changeling fun to my self and not so much tobee used
since I try to learn woodworking the old school with out electron killer device´s ….
I will proppebly regret it a few times over the years to come….LOL
but I do thinking of either build or buy a drillpress and a bandsaw in the future :-)

take care
Dennis

Here are few pictures of the very start of the drum sander. These are pics of the assembly of the drum and rollers for the sander. I will be putting these up on Facebook when I get the time and set a link later of more detailed information.

OK, I know that probably no one will read this, but I really am making a drum sander. It will hopefully be completed in the next couple of months, as time allows me to work on it. Thanks
