My name is Jason Hammock. I learned to love woodworking when I was a kid being the "gofer" for my Dad. Gofer this and gofer that. I joined the Marine Corps right out of high school and became a Combat Engineer. Part of my job is construction and the even better part is explosives. I started making going away gifts for my fellow Marines when I was a Sergeant. We used to take C-4 crates and poly them up and place inert firing devices and boobytraps on them. Definately not fine woodworking, but it was great giving something to a fellow Marine that they would cherish the rest of their life. So I have provided my woodworking abilities to many other Marines for free just so I could be apart of making them something they would love. I have made about a half of dozen shadow boxes and now I am venturing into more unique gifts when I can. I am currently a Gunnery Sergeant in the Marine Corps with 13 years in the service. I hail from Miami, FL but I am currently stationed in Quantico, VA. I look foward to learning from the vast knowledge base at LumberJocks.
