I have started to plan my first rocking chair. It is going to be in the idea of my present chair where the majority of it is going to be made of as many pieces as I can fit. Here is the twist. Since becoming a member of Lumber Jocks I have received some of the most wonderful comments, These comments coming from such talented people has inspired an Idea that I think we could all get into.
The Big Idea.
We can mail scrap pieces to each other to be incorporated into a project. The main thing is that you sand, square and sign the piece with the Date, State ( or Country for the progressives ) and maybe you LJ handle. I think if we came up with a size that you do not go over say 3.5×4 it would be great. I think we could create some fantastic pieces with a little more memory to them.

A great idea Lupo!
What happens to the projects once they’re done? Do we as individuals keep them, or do they get auctioned off?
How would the rotation of scrap work? Or if you are a participant, is there a pool of participants and you send each person a scrap, and in return, receive a piece of scrap from each of those people?
Boy, we could help keep the USPS afloat with this one!
Since I am just starting out here, I don’t currently have much scrap, but over the next couple of months, I’m sure my pile will grow exponentially, so I’d be game for this, depending on the decided-upon criteria.

Well that is the good part about this. We can do Auction items to charities or our own personal Items. I want a few pieces to put on my next chair. I just thought it would look cool! Anyone who wants to collaborate on it is more than welcome. Maybe we do a different state or two each month that we pick a few different guys from and Bombard them with scrap!!!!!!! So start spreading the Idea and over the next few nights I will come up with a format.
