dry time for 8/4 maple - 15 replies
Hi All, I do not own a moisture meter. I have a stack of dry 8/4 maple that was bought about 2 weeks ago, it has been sitting in my very dry (woodstove) kitchen for that time, wondering if anyone has any idea how long I need to leave it before I can work with it. Thanks Luke

Question about lathe motor - 12 replies
Hi All, I am planning on building my own lathe (blog to come) I have a 2Hp motor I recovered off an old air compressor (115V) and I am wondering if I can put a rheostat on it for speed control or if I need to get multi speed spindles for the belts. Basically wondering if putting a rheostat on will wreck the motor? Thanks Luke
