My name is Louie. I grew up around my dad who did woodworking as a hobby then he made it a full time thing once he retired. I learned a lot just hanging around him in his woodworking shop. He taught me quit a bit on how to use a router and the basic tools growing up. My own woodworking adventure started when I was a freshman in high school and continuted until I graduated. One of my first major projects was a camel back cedar chest I made for my mom. I had to design it as part of my drafting class.
I consider my self an advanced amateur. I know enough to find my way around a woodshop but im no expert. Im always learning and discovering new things. I suggest anyone that likes creating and designing new things, or anybody that loves working with their hands take a woodworking class. Its a great experience

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.
To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.
Please enjoy your membership.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
