Good Evening,

My name is Ed and this is my first post. As background, I have been woodworking for about 20 years. I have a full up woodworking shop (table saw, router/table, drill press, belt/hand sanders, etc). I have built everything from tiny knick-knack shelves to a large entertainment center (to include bookcases, coffee/end tables, sofa tables, hallway tables, etc.) I say this to give an idea of my experience; however, I firmly believe an old dog can learn new tricks. This is a great site and I have enjoyed poking around at the various sections. It is interesting to read the various topics and see the projects. Additionally, I retired last August and, since I have always wanted a bansdsaw, received one as a retirement gift. It is a Grizzley GO555LX. It appers to be a nice saw…I have been through some trials and tribulations…will share later. However, I have come to love building bandsaw boxes. The sky is the limit – plans or free-hand, it is a bunch of fun. I plan to make a separate post on my first and subsequent boxes.

I’ll close for tonight. I hope I posted this in the correct location and hope to get some feedback. I am looking forward to being a member of LumberJocks.

Take care,
Ed

Glad to meet you Ed,

Lots of ol retired woodworkers here, you’ve come to the right place.

Now that you’ve gotten past your 1st. blog post, you gotta post some pictures of your shop or past projects!

Thanks to LJ, I cleaned my shop better than it’s ever been to prepare for the photos to post under workshop. looked fantastic – for about 2 hours, then it was back to dust city as usual.

I hope you enjoy the site as much as I have. Welcome aboard Sir!

Welcome to Lumberjocks Ed!! And congratulations on your retirement.
I’m on my 12th year of retirement and enjoying every second of it. I think woodworking and retirement go hand and hand.
I’ll be looking out to see some of your projects and like thedude50 said “old ones too” !
Hope you have a great stay here on LJ’s!
