Boys and Girls, Just got an APB from Dutchy that the T & J domain was up for grabs… This does not sound like an “abnormal outage”!

Anyone heard any rumours? No notification or warning… Did one of you guys really piss Carl off or was he getting intimidated by the great wheel blogs posted here?.

I wouldn’t be surprised, people with businesses should be allowed to retire or want to. I visited his home based business a number of years ago and I don’t remember him being a young man. Interesting enough he had been a Shop teacher like myself. I can think of another business that is up for grabs, wood related, he died and his wife is still managing in her 90’s. Businesses don’t have a retirement plan, one just has to close the doors. Just a thought.

... people with businesses should be allowed to retire or want to…
- bushmaster

It was a family business with enough younguns to keep it going, so I was just surprised when I visited the site and it was shop closed.

I was more surprised that their T & J forum which was designed to assist their customers just had the plug pulled.

Now if it was a Internet glitch I’d understand, but the message is that the domain is up for grabs kind of doesn’t give past customers a chance to gather their bearings. After all one does not retire on one days notice and even under adverse conditions an explanation is usually forthcoming.

However, this was not meant as a whipping post but more as a curiosity question as there were a number of plans I still intended to buy.

So it’s a glitch… I was just surprised as most issues say the site is temporarily unavailable rather than domain up for sale.

I am back again could not resist checking out the TJ products.

They certainly have some great gear available and all at a price I would not even attempt to try and make on my rickety bench.

I hope LBD is OK and hasent gone into hiding!

Was Dutchy speaking double dutch?

Why this suggestion?

But the answer to the question is: “No I was not!”.

Thank you Alex for asking the question and heaps more thanks for Jan finding that we still have T&J as so many toy & model makers would have been very sad.
But saying that some very clever people like Dutchy are coming up with some excellent woodworking model plans.
