Model vehicles' kerf making.

Gents, Ladies, Boys, girls, Jocks and Jockettes…. Someone asked how the door kerfs were made in models, Well there are many more different methods then there are hairs on my well adorned head. Nevertheless I thought I’d pluck out a hair and say a few words on how I kerf. Now contrary to my common practice, I’m warning you up front about reading all, in case you are not interested. For my solution, I employ the use of SketchUp, a laser cutter (can be substituted by CNC or good scrolling practices), 3D printer (substitute a selection of dowels, drill bits and some lathe work), 3mm MDF (substitute ply) 1.6mm router bit, 3 glasses of vino and… a fast car... th...
