What went wrong with the glue? - 4 replies
Hi all, I keep attempting to make a beer mug and on my second attempt I got it completely turned and finished with beeswax. I then try the water test over night for 10 hrs just to make sure that it would hold. When I checked on it, this morning, I discovered I had created a modern art sculpture. 2 of the joints seemed to have catastrophical...

Moving to another city - 19 replies
So I just got a job offer and it is in another city. I am most likely going to take the job, but here is the question: What is the best way to move my power tools? Before anyone asks, no not yours, can’t have them, they’re mine! ;) Any ideas? Thanks, Mike

So I have a great chance of getting a Craftsman Professional 10 in. Contractor Saw (Sears#21833) for a really good price. The saw is new too. I was wondering if this was a good buy or should I pass on the deal for the Ridgid or Porter Cable version? Has anyone used the Craftsman? Is the quality good? Thanks! Mike

To buy or not to buy this table saw - 32 replies
So I found a used table saw and I want your input on if I should buy it or not. The saw is only $400 and doesn’t come with the out feed table mobile base or any blades. I have no issue with that either since I have blades already. The saw is from 2007 and it is the Grizzly G1023 SLX. Should I buy this or wait for something else to beco...

table saw prices - 8 replies
Hi all: Lately I have been really looking into purchasing an upgrade to my current table saw. I have been looking at saws for a number of years and am wondering if it is just me or have saws gone up in price? I took a look at some old Grizzly catalogs and compared it to the website. In the old catalog, there were a few saws under $600, but...

Another one Bites the Dust... - 7 replies

In another month or two I will be out of a job again. The first company I worked as a Mechanical Engineer and they downsized and I lost my job. The next job I worked in a call center for a m...

Cheap and easy Dust Collector Piping - 7 replies
So I was looking a while ago at the 4” pipe for dust collectors and I really didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg since I am renting the house my shop is in. I was looking for something that I could get that would do the job, but also not be a problem to replace if I moved. After looking around at Grizzly, HF, and tons of websites...

Plywood Question - 11 replies
I am thinking of making something from plywood and wanted to see if anyone has tried to joint the edge of a plywood board. Is this even worth the effort or is it going to shatter? Thanks, Mike

What does Handmade mean to you? - 208 replies
Hi all, I am going to open a monster can of worms with this question. What does handmade mean to you? The reason I ask is that many websites where you can sell items have different classifications as to what handmade means. For instance, one site says that a laser cut wooden object is not handmade when a second site states that it is. I...

Grizzly H8259 10" x 18" lathe problem - 0 replies
So I have had the Grizzly H8259 10” x 18” lathe for a little over 2 years and the bearings just started to click. I called Grizzly and they sent me a new set. The problem that I am running into is that I can’t seem to remove the front bearing off of the headstock spindle. I have already disassembled the headstock, removed th...
