Some people, (Dennis Zongker), are just too good!

Hi everyone;

I just wanted to congratulate our fellow L.J., Dennis Zongker, for having his "Griffin End Table" published in the Dec. '08 issue of C.W.B. ( Custom Woodworking Business) Magazine. pgs. 26 & 27

http://www.iswonline.com/ArticleLanding/tabid/67/Default.aspx?tid=2&heading=Design%20Portfolio&modid=517&ContentID=17970

In an article appropriately titled; "An End Table to End All End Tables", Dennis's table is shown in two beautiful photographs.

In the interview, his passion and knowledge of furniture styles and periods is obvious. A sign of someone that truly immerses themselves in their work, stemming from a genuine love of their work.

His workmanship is nothing short of amazing, as is his design skill.

Certainly an inspiration to me, and I'll bet most of us L.J."s

Congratulations, Dennis

And I have to pipe in that Dennis is as open-handed and unassuming as he seems here on these pages. His generosity to me personally has been astounding, and it's refreshing to see someone who is just so excited by the process of his craft.

I think Dennis is blessed to be successful at Element Two of life (Element One being the Golden Rule - which he also practices to full effect): "Do what you love, love what you do." That fact that he gets a paycheck from this is a testament to his skill and vision, and just a fair ladle of gravy to boot.

Congratulations on your win, Dennis. You entirely deserve it.

Hi Dennis;

Thank you for the very big compliment, it is I that is honored. It's my pleasure to know you, and learn from you.

And I have to agree, the kid in a candy store is the perfect description. All these LJ's who are afflicted with the same sickness; (woodworking).

I mean who else leaves their day job just long enough to eat, then willingly go back to work (?). And be happy about it!

I suspect many of us here share the same conviction with our projects. If it's not impossible, why bother?

Again, may I say you are an inspiration.

Hi Barry;

Thank you for bringing that up. I knew I saw Dennis's name somewhere. I was thinking in the Post Office, but somehow that just didn't seem right! LOL
