Picked up some Yellowheart pen blanks on ebay recently.
100 5/8” x 5/8” x 6” pieces for total cost of $30 with $13.55 shipping total of $43.55 works out to $0.46 a blank. Not to bad I think. Going to be a-lot of slim line pens with those or some pieces to cut for segmenting.

Yes 5/8 is small. Slim style it’ll be ok but better drill straight on. Cigars.. I really doubt it those blanks call for 3/4” but…who knows it might work. Will be close.

Or depending on how you look at it, almost $30 a board foot. My local hardwood supply sells it for about $6 a board foot. You might want to try looking for it in not pre-cut into pen blanks if you have a table saw.

Guess maybe it isn’t such a good deal. I’ve considered looking into buying large stock and ripping it down myself.
I’m used to looking at the price of pen blanks being that is how I normally bought them. I know that it is cheaper to cut it yourself. Although based on pen blank prices this deal was actually better than other pen blank prices I’ve seen. Not cheaper than cutting wood obviously but cheaper per blank.
