My shop is a 3 car garage roughly 20’x 20’ with a 15’x10’ nook (3rd Car). The first thing I did to my shop was build a work bench for all my tools and to get stuff off the floor (back wall). I then decided to build an actual work bench to assemble my projects (Sold it, replaced with MFT/3). My wife and I have plans to move back to Texas in the near future so everything I’m doing will be able to come with me for the most part.
Follow the journey as I buy and build my shop over the next couple years, April 15th 2011 was when I bought my first tool

Lance, I have to agree that you are off to a pretty good start on your shop. You have built a nice, solid workbench and the storage shelves are definitely a plus as well. I am looking forward to seeing updates to your shop as you get an opportunity to post them.

nice shop. I’d put a 220 plug or 2 somewhere in there. some day, you’ll want that juice. if you look at my shop pics, I’ve got a HF 2hp dust collector. (bought it for 139 on sale once), and it works decently as long as you use it on all your too

That is a fine workshop; you did a great job on that work bench and everything is nice and neat. I’ll bet that you really enjoy doing work in there. Congratulations and welcome to Lumberjocks.

So…....... I purchased the HF Dust Collector last week on the 4th. HF had a 25% coupon online that day and after reading a lot of reviews I decided to pull the trigger! With a couple of mods I think this DC is well worth the money IMO. Here it is, one step closer to my shop having my shop up and running!

I was making a normal trip to HD for a spray pump for my RoundUp I bought at Sam’s the other day. While entering the store through the lumber side of the store I couldn’t help myself but go through the tools section. Well, turns out it was a good decision, Ridgid’s 15” Drill press was on sale for $254 regularly $299 at HD. I talked with the sales guy and asked how long its been on sale because they only had one left, he said “a little while, it should drop again b/c their being discontinued or a new line is coming out” So I jumped on it! It’s the one I want for my shop and I’m going to leave it in the box for 30 days just in case the price drops again!

great looking shop. I’ll send in some pics of mine when I slow down. I have the same drill press. I was totally suprised on how good of a machine it is. Don’t forget to register it. Rigid has a lifetime warrenty and they back it up providing you follow the registration policy

Hey Lance,
Looks like you are well on the way to having a great shop. Now if you can/con talk the boss into the OTHER half of the ”shop”.
