« Part 3: Mallets for the shop Part 4 of Projects with Red Oak Flooring leftovers series no next part

Its been a while since I’ve done anything with the red oak flooring but an opportunity arose.

Every year my father-in-law’s family has a reunion and it includes a silent auction that raises funds for the meal’s main meat course. This year my wife had some loose bottles and asked me to make a couple of boxes so they could be used like a centerpiece, and go into the auction.

I did one with box joints, which I have done before then decided to try my hand at mitered corners and splines. To do so, I had to build a spline cutting jig for the table saw.
