I found this old plane at a friend of my parents’ shop whose husband had passed away. I don’t know much about planes but it looked pretty cool. I did a little research and learned that they stopped making this one about 1918 so it is at least 99 years old. Didn’t seem to be that valuable on the internet so I figured I’d tackle it myself for a first restoration.

You might say I turned it around! I’d call this a functional restoration. Returned to working order with functional handles and mechanisms but more work to do.

It was pretty rough.

I tackled the handle before doing much internet research. I used a chunk of Walnut I had that was about 7/4. Drilling out the holes was a trick, and there were pieces missing from the old one so I got it close/functional. Later research showed better methods so I may make another attempt.
