I’m debating on buying either the Auriou or the Lie Nielsen drawknife. Although I’ve read good things about the LN drawknife I hadn’t heard anything about the Auriou drawknives. I’d appreciate any feedback on either drawknife.

Thanks in advance!

I can’t comment on the Auriou, but I had a chance to test drive the Lie Nielsen. Extremely impressive. It left a glass smooth surface, and I was able to get a ridiculous degree of control, which I didn’t think was possible. Either way I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

I have an Auriou modelers rasp with a beautiful LN handle and I love it…but would probably go with the LN drawknife, I also use a small 4” Japanese woodcarver’s drawknife that is incredibly sharp

Have your say...
