no previous part Part 1 of Delta 40-601 speed control rotor repair series no next part

I have the problem described by Mr. Unix, a shattered speed control rotor on my 40-601 Delta Scroll Saw. I understand how and can make the replacement rotor that he developed. However, the axel on which the rotor hub is secured appears to be pressed into the cast iron housing of the saw. Moreover, the axel has a gear mounted to it. Finally, I am uncertain whether I have the skill or tools to remove the axel. Consequently, do you have a sequence or method to remove the axel?

I appreciate your help.

thanks

I don’t know anything about the saw or how to fix it. But, just wanted to suggest that you move this post to the forums. It’s not likely to get much attention in your Blog.
