Fixed Louver Shutters: is RED CEDAR a good option? - 4 replies

I am considering making some fixed louver exterior shutters for one of my in-laws Everything I see online is usually made from basswood – very few people speak of using cedar Is there a reason for this? Any opinions or experiences will be appreciated
