Need to sharpen turning tool - 9 replies Hi, Santa brought me a lathe this year and I’m struggling to get the tools sharp. The straight tools are no problem, I was able to sharpen them on some sand paper stuck to granite. The tools aren’t HSS, but cheaper ones and burn quickly even with a white norton disk on my grinder. I am thinking about a Worksharp or slow spee... |

The only two ways to do this I can think of doing this are dropping it onto the router bit or raising the saw blade into it. Any other ideas? Thank You, |

Coiled Bandsaw Danger! Always follow the instructions! - 6 replies I’m a new bandsaw owner and I just uncoiled my first blade. The package said “Warning this blade is under tension” and to untie it and throw it on the floor. It also said to wear gloves which I wasn’t. I uncoiled it and threw it, but my thumb got caught. I got a pretty decent cut and just wanted to remind myself... |

Dust Collection, What should I expect? - 9 replies Hi, I am using a Rockler portable dust collecter on a Ridgid granite topped table saw. Its connected with a 21 section of flexible hose.
