I first became captured in the art of wood working when I was about 4 yrs old. I would set in the basement with my grandfather and help him build bird houses of all sorts. I then as a younger man went to work with a cabinet maker / finisher carpenter (what a craftsman). I can remember him telling me that I was captured, he said that only someone bit by the wood working bug would ask so many questions all the time.
I have been involved in the art for nearly 30 yrs or so but for some unknown reason, I allowed the Corporate & Business world to consume my every waking moment (a conscious coma I guess) with nearly no activity (outside of our typical house hold projects) in the art. Since I have awakened from this dreadful coma I have made some major life adjustments and will be diving back into the art head first.
I have to say that there is nothing more refreshing than looking out my window at my new workshop (under construction) and realizing that it is just a matter of time. It truly feels so exciting have the opportunity of setting up a new shop in my sights and getting back into the art. I guess I never realized how much I missed it.
I will post a few additional projects along the way as my work shop progresses. I hope you enjoy and I look forward to the interaction with everyone here.
As always your comments / suggestions and any constructive criticism is welcome.
It is my goal to awaken and improve upon furniture making Skills and interact with others to broaden our community. I thank you all in advance for the warm welcome and hope to build some long lasting friendships here.
My current goals are to 1st finish my workshop, polish my Green & Green techniques, and further my entry door making skills.
Thank you Charles
