« Part 1: Very "Interesting" Glue-Up Part 2 of Mystery Project I series no next part

Well, as promised in my first blog on this project, “Very Interesting Glue-up”, I promised to reveal what these Items will form….........

But first, here’s the guesses:

Matt guessed ”Giant Napkin Holder? lol. Or maybe Magazine ends?” – Nope, and Nope – Napkin Holder IS my favorite, though. :-)

Patron, I’m sorry, but they aren’t table leg sides – you are right though – if they were hinged, maybe…....

I guess Neil and Gary came the closest with:

”They’re going to be lovely. I’ve often thought of building a pair for myself.” from Neil &
”I’m with Neil. Always wanted to build a pair but couldn’t figure out how to glue them.” from Gary. LOL

However, you can’t be awarded the prize because they do not come in a “pair”................

Here’s what the two make when joined together:

Yup, it’s a bike rack – made for a racing bike.

My Fat-Tired Mountain Bike makes it look strange, but you get the picture at least.

Two bolts (which will be covered by a stainless steel sheath to protect the tires from the threads), hold the two pieces together.

I still have a bunch of finishing to do on these, but I promised an explanation, so there you go!

I am making two of these in total for a person and his wife who have some REALLY nice racing bikes.

BTW, they are made from redwood and are really pretty “in person”.

Very clever.

Interesting. I may have to borrow this concept for my stable of bikes.
