« Part 2: Part 3 Part 3 of Jewelry box series Part 4: Part 5 »

I took time from my busy work day to visit the elderly gentleman Warren (mentor I suppose) who has just had a stroke and showed him the jewellery box. we both felt there should be something on the inside of the lid, I chose the Totara burr (Totara is a native timber to New Zealand) and to show my gratitude to Warren for all his help I cut in a motif he gave me.
Then carried on with the planned design.

With the top veneered to started on the main box by gluing a strip of American walnut with the hinges checked into it which the veneers will butt under

I am out of here like a bold man.

Looking good. The shell is a classic.
