I consider myself a beginning woodworker. I took wood shop in school but many years have lapsed since then. Home improvement projects have gotten me back into it in the last few years. I'm gradually outfitting my shop/garage as I take on new projects and "need" to acquire more equipment. I'm mostly self taught, but I use every resource I can get my hands on; books, magazines, TV shows, and of course great websites like LumberJocks. I've come here several times and figured I could get even more out of it if I joined.
I'm an engineer by profession and have spent the last several years working on the 787 at Boeing. What I like about woodworking is the same as what attracted me to engineering. Starting with the idea and eventually being able to touch the finished product.
