Band Saw Circle Cutting Jig Problems - 47 replies

What do you guys use for cutting circles with a band saw and jig? I built a simple jig last week and can’t get it to cut without stressing the blade. I placed the center point just in front of the blade like the examples I found online. The blade I’m using is a new ½” wood slicer resaw blade from highland. I also tried a ¼” blade with the ...

Juice Grooves are a PITA!!!! - 17 replies

Someone please enlighten me on milling juice grooves and finger grooves in cutting boards. I tried it on a nice thick cherry board tonight and struggled all the way. After I puffed the 1st passed I had to make it ¼ thinner. I finally got the grooves in but the router left some stubborn burns that I still can’t get out! I don’t think I’ll be d...

I picked up some Maple, Walnut and Cherry and began production to make a dozen boards or so....

I’m just about ready to order a G0690 and need to have a mobile base for it.Grizzly recommends the Shop Fox G7314 that is rated at 700 lbs. which is just over the weight of the machine. The reviews of this base are poor and I would like to find or build something better. Does anyone know of a better base for this saw? The cabinet is 20” x 20”...

White or Yellow beeswax? - 7 replies

Hey guys, I’m making some cutting boards and want to try and make my own mix of beeswax and mineral oil. I found the mineral oil for $8 for 32 ozs. I also found the beeswax at Joann’s for $15 a pound minus 40% with a coupon. Thing is they had both yellow and white beeswax. So what do you guys use? I know it probably doesn’t matter, but is ...
