Location: Long Island, New York

I'm a retired NYC Firefighter and former NYC Police Officer. After retiring, I traveled to several places including New Zealand and Thailand. Both of these countries have a rich history of woodcarving. I was intrigued behind the artistic and technical part of these master woodcarvers. After, completing my travels I realized what I wanted to do.

I started woodcarving in June 2011. I attended two, one week courses in Glouster, Mass. and learned some basics behind this art. I was hooked!

I work only with traditional woodcarving tools. No power tools, except for roughing out projects.. I'm always looking to learn more. In the summer of 2012, I attended three weeks of carving school in Austria. The instruction was priceless, and the food at the school was awesome. I plan on going back in the future.

The winter of 2014, I attended the 3 month Furniture Intensive at The Center for Furniture Craftsmanship, in Rockport Maine. My instructors were amazing, they taught use lots of hand skills, machine skills, design, and everything else to make original, custom furniture.
