If you make a bandsaw box without using a bandsaw, what do you call it?

I like the look of bandsaw boxes, but I don’t have a bandsaw. I wanted to see if I could make something that emulated a bandsaw box anyway. It’s not emulating the more familiar drawer style box, but the kind with the removable lid. All you absolutely need is a jigsaw, drill, router table with flush trim bit, and some sandpaper.

To answer your question, I’d call it “A box” :-)

That IS a neat little box by the way

I love the elegant simplicity of the name you suggest. It clearly boils it down to the pure essence of the piece and and describes it in an economic manner. Such pithy discourse is surely in short supply these days. Your ability to say so much with so little is something that the world more. So many things have been over complicated by today’s modern society. The amount of words used to say something has replaced the content for the true measure of the discussion’s worth. I strive to me as concise and direct. I salute you, sir! ;-)

If you look at the old time work shops with no power, most of these were made with a coping saw or the fret saw.
The bandsaw box came along with the advent of the band saw … go figger

I saw some boxes that were produced by using a Coping Saw and a back saw for the straight cuts

But I like the just a Box idea

It is, quite obviously, a jigsawdrillroutertableflushtrimbitsandpaper box.

Well done video, interesting technique for box-making. I like the way the grain alternates all wacko-like.
