I would like to take a moment to say, “Happy Fourth of July to all that celebrate this day!”

I have met so many people on here from around the world that I have become fiends with if it were not for this site it amazes me. The is so much talent and help on here with very minimal negativity on here it make me proud to be a small part of it. Some times you would think I work for this site, as I always tell woodworkers I meet about this site.

I read a blog and replied to it about a fellow Lumberjock Rob, (Socalwood) here on the site. Everyone that has met this person says the same things on how nice and helpful he is. I have to agree after chatting with him as well. While he is only one person on here and there are many of the same type of people on here, its my small way of say Thank-you and recognizing someone that has started to inspire me. Thx for reading.
Here was my post to theblog from Childress,

This something my wife and I look so fwd too you can not believe… Going to visit and buy some wood from Rob has us somewhat intimidated to say the least. Everyone says how nice he is & I agree after chatting on e mail with him. We just do wood working as a hobby and sell a cpl of projects to Friends and family. But the chance to learn and meet someone like this excites us. We are close to working out free time to drive down from Los Angeles to meet him and his doggies. We were at a party yesterday talking woodworking to a friend and I mentioned Rob and his work with Forrest fire lumber, he was excited and replied if you have room in your truck I would be excited to go as well. I really love this site! Good luck!

Happy fourth to you and your wife, Ken.

Trust me, nothing to be intimidated about. nothing at all. I found it more intimidating when I used to go to big lumberyards way back when because the employees would act like you need to know the terminology and so forth without offering any help or advice. Not so with Rob. Very easy to talk to and deal with.

Keep me informed of your planned visit, I just might need to go up there also and get some more lumber ;-)
I’m always looking for an excuse to go, can’t you tell.

Happy forth of July to all our LJ neighbours to the south! Long may our two countries enjoy the freedoms and friendships that we currently are blessed with.
