I was asked by a couple of LumberJocks today if I’d heard from Dusty lately so I searched on the internet and I found an Obituary and I from July 2013 and I thought I might have missed the opportunity.
But I called his number and he answered the phone.
He’s still doing well and he said a couple of times “I’m a senior now!”, but he’s still working. he retired about 4 years ago from driving a bus in Minneapolis. But he picked up a job working for the federal government where he’s after white collar crime and the people who buy a place for $45,000 and then get it appraised for $500,000, borrow $450,000 on it and disappear. he lived in airports and hotels all over the country.
He bought a house in Arizona to live in while he was there and finally moved back to home. His home in Arizona is now his winter home. His father and mother are still alive but are both living in full time managed care facilities.
Dusty has completed all of the home work that he wanted to do and so he has sold all of his woodworking equipment to his brother.
He did complete 4 expert stained window classes and has built 4 Tiffany type chandeliers.
he says that he now works within a 100mi radius of his home instead of traveling.
It was a good call to renew some old friendships.
I sent him the address of the Stained glass memorial that I posted last night.
He was glad to see the finished project posted in the winner home.
Any of his buddies that want to make contact send me a message and I send his phone#. After I check with him.
