I hope I get my shop set up in time to complete something for this. I am moving to the Bay Area which is a good thing since I am increasing my shop size by 100%! However, not much is going to happen until then. Good luck to all of you.

I’m looking forward to this contest. Though struggling for ideas, I’m sure something will come up!

Cool. I know where I am headed for the garden challenge. I have to think about the Jointery competition.

I think there might be a Domino or two in it, Bob! Debbie, we have a conduit between our shops. I just grab it back. You’ve actually forced me to give you a little foreshadowing to an upcoming joint construction utilizing the full features and benefits of the cyber tool share. The only thing I’m regretting is, when we designed the parallel dimension conduit, it’s only big enough to fit the domino and perhaps other smaller hand tools. I wasn’t thinking because I wanted to take a rip at the FMT. I’ll have to do a little work to see if I can stretch the envelope and maintain it’s stability with THAT much aluminum and dimensions. We’ll see.

Maybe if you can code in some way to open up a worm hole – enable you to borrow anything you can get your hands on. That should do the trick.

Can you get it without them knowing who borrowed it. And can we just go to a MFG site and grab a 24” resaw bandsaw.

I have built in safeguards so you will know who took your stuff. Here’s how the safeguard works. When the user attempts to open the conduit, the technology is able to read his/her intent. If they are true and just, the conduit opens. If they are not, they get an error. The conduits have been open 18 times and we’re 18/18, so I’m not worried about this crew.

scottb, we tried the wormhole concept but can’t seem to get the tools to make it the relatively short distance constraint of this planet. There is still a biscuit joiner on the moon, and there is no way to get it back. It will be interesting if someone finds it. Sort of like finding a Coke can on the mountain you just climbed.

karson, we can only borrow tools from within the LJ community. We can’t go to manufacturers.

I’m working on opening up the conduit a bit. At some point in time, somebody is going to want to borrow a unisaw or sawstop.

Cheers!
