I went to the Grizzly tent sale this weekend in PA. It was quite the experience. First, I spoke to a rep on the phone who suggested that I get there about an hour ahead of time… Try 2-3 hours. By the time we go there, there were at least 200 people in front of us. By the time the tent sale opened, the line was SUPER long. When the clock struck 8am, you have never witnessed a line move as fast as this one. We were so far back and yet it took seconds for us to reach the front. By the time we were in, tickets had already been ripped off of stuff. My advice if you ever go to this sale, make a list, run, grab tickets and think later. If you don’t have the tickets, you are not walking away with what you want. For some reason, I walked off with my friend thinking I had plenty of time…turned out I did not. I did however walk off with the $70 mobile base extension for only $20. It was scratched. I got a scroll saw for $15 that I haggled down from 90. The table top was not level at 90 degrees. If you take a level, and set it on top, you can easily make it level and lock it down. That was a steal for me since brand new it was something like $150. My friend bought a 6 inch jointer for $250. It only had cosmetic damage. All in all it was a pretty good day. I would have taken more pics of the sale, but it was a mad house and I barely had time to think while we were in there let alone take pics. When we got home, we got everything off the trailer with a pallet jack. I used my engine hoist to lift up the saw and place it into the mobile base…it will be a little bit before I can finish assembling the saw. We are moving over the next two weekends…after that, its back to making some sawdust!

I have been into black friday shopping like it was a sport and this beat that by a mile. The deals were unreal too! I got the G1023 RLX (7’ Rails). I plan to post a review when I am all done setting things up and have a chance to use it.

What did you pay for the G1023 RLX, the tent sale is coming up again in PA on the 13th and I think I’ll be going this time around.

Garlandkr, I bought my saw brand new. I had saved up for it so why not. The 6 inch jointer I got was only 175 and works perfectly after some initial tuning of the tables. The mobile bases are perfect and were only $20. The scroll saw was 15 and works great. If you want a saw, get up there EARLY. We were there an hour early and if you look at the line, you will notice how far back we were. The saws with cosmetic damage were nearly 50% off the price. It was unreal. I would have gotten one, but the tags had already been removed meaning someone claimed them already. Get there early, know what you want and RUN to it.

Good deals man! I’m bummed that I couldn’t go, it turned out to be a really busy weekend for me. I’ll make sure to get in on the action next year.
