Tri State area of NY, NJ and PA?

He everyone,
Hope I am doing this right. I am looking for other woodworking members who live in the Tri State area of NY, NJ and PA. Are there any out there? I thought it would be fun to talk to others who live in the area and maybe even get together once in awhile (or more often if wanted)

I live close to Poughkeepsie, I believe that is pretty close to Port Jervis. Out of curiosity, where do you purchase your rough lumber?

Hi Jesse, Yes, Port Jervis is about 1 hour from Poughkeepsie. As for rough lumber I have a large pile of white oak and some red oak that was cut a few years ago from our property. I have been working off that pile for the past year and from the looks of it I will have at least a few more years even with our daughter and son in law building a home and using all oak for their trim. Where do you get your rough lumber from?

So far from the responses Port Jervis is probably central to the other members in this area. Maybe we can plan a picnic or something here once the weather warms up some :)

Joanne, I have found lumber from a few people via craigslist, and I have ordered from I was just hopefull that you had a local sawyer that you dealt with. Sounds like you have a large pile of lumber then. I have thought of posting the same thing that you did, to see how many people are in our general vicinity.

We have had 2 picnics at Lee Jesbergers shop. We didn’t have one in 2009 so I’d like to plan one maybe early spring.
