I was recently asked to build a custom trunk with a false front, removable tray and drawers to hold family photos and personal items. I pretty much have the design done. Ive been looking for the right hardware for the style I am going for but not having much luck. The second photo is the style I had in mind, a dark stained trunk with antique bra...

Designing Tool Chest - 5 replies
I am in process of designing a tool chest for my hand tools that I can place on my bench top but I would also want to be able to bring it with me if need be, similar concept to the one in the photo below. My plan is to have a place to put all my tools (not just tossed in a drawer) so they don’t get damaged when moving the chest around. ...

Dewalt DW735 vs General 30-005HC M1 - 7 replies
I am looking into getting a planner this winter but I cant decide between the Dewalt DW735 and the General 30-005HC M1. The two planners cost about the same so price isn’t a big deal. I am pretty much just looking at the performance side of things. I’ve used the Dewalt a fair bit at work and never had any problems with it but it seem...

Table Saw Wiring Question - 25 replies
I am pretty sure I am going to order the 10 Inch Left Tilt 2 HP Table Saw from general but i got a question about the wiring for the motor. It says the motor is pre-wired 230 (2 HP, 115/230 V, 19.5/9.5 A). I currently only have 120 running in my shop so I will need to change the saw over from 230 to 115, from what I gather all you need to do is ...

I am started to plan out for a mobile assembly table for my 16’ x 24’ shop that is shared between car repairs and wood shop so the table may have to pulled outside on the gravel/grass now and then to make room for car repairs. Jokes in the woodshop - 23 replies
Let me start off by saying that I do not encourage dangerous pranks in the shop. I am simply just wondering if you have ever pulled a “harmless” joke in the shop when someone new comes in or if you ever had one pulled on yourself? For example asking them to find the wood stretcher or to stain a door natural stain. I wasn’t ever...
