Model maker navigating full sized materials and tools (mostly for jigs to figure out how to handle scale issues lol)

Eventually I want to design my own miniature furniture but at the moment want to move from 'assembling' kits to fabricating proper joinery in 12th scale.

Also working with electrical parts - some parts of the mounting system will likely be wood and/or acrylic which is worked essentially the same way.

Any help or guidance from those with scale experience is certainly welcome. I'm learning all my tools step by step, almost wholly via Youtube and forums such as this. I want to work safely but with innovation.
