I just didn’t notice it was my 1st anniversary here in LJ until Gary told me.
Oh it’s been a who;e year already It was really nice being a member here with all of you, I could meet so many woodworkers here, they are all so nice to me, I could find so many important information, knowledge, and advice from you guys. Thank you thank you, thank you!!!
I should have posted this blog sooner, but I was away from home these days for a concert in Imabari, Ehime, that in Shikoku island, and we went to stay in a cozy Ryokan (Inn) called “Oyabu-onsen” after the concert, spent a night there.
Anyway, it’s really deep in the mountains and the room we had dinner was really nice.

Mmmm, the fire place is called “Irori”, where you can cook, you can use it as stove also. Irori is one of my dreams in the future! But you have to have one of “traditional Japanese houses” to have irori room.

Thank you both of you.
David,
Ha ha! They are not socks, but trouts!
Well, you can use the fire place for drying your socks, maybe!

Happy anniversary Junji. Had it not been for Garyk we would have missed this day. That is what LJ is. It was nice to hear about your concert in Imabari.

We all have learned much from you. You have given us ideas on a Pop-up Toaster, Japanese carpenter tool box, and a Rittai yonmoku narabe, for our kids and grand kids and so much more. You also have shown us the Japanese way of life.
Thanks for sharing and happy first anniversary Junji.

Everybody, thank you so much again.
Gary,
Yes, trout as in fish. They were the dinner!
I just found a good explanation of Irori by an American who lives in Kochi.
