Welcome to my, ahem, workshop.
It’s not really a workshop yet. Two years after we moved to the house, it was so full of rubbish that you couldn’t even step into it. But last year I cleared it out and started to transform it into a useful space.
I boarded it with OSB, and installed some new electrics and lighting. On the far wall I put in some staging topped with offcuts from our kitchen worktop. This area is for my other half to use; she’s training to become a florist.
That leaves me with around 18’ x 7’, which should be big enough for what I want to do. On the plus side, it’s got plenty of light from the two big windows that face south and west, and air circulation isn’t a problem with the big double doors. The only real downside is that there is not heating or insulation, so it gets very cold.
I’ve built a very basic bench, and I’ve got an old kitchen cabinet for storage, and that’s it at the moment.
I’m slowly adding some half decent tools to replace my budget DIY ones, so my next priority is to build somewhere to store them, probably a German style wall cabinet.

Welcome to Lumberjocks, keep it up. There are plenty of people that will give you opinions on tools, and also reviews of specific ones. I’m sure you will hear from them soon. Bummer about the No Heat situation, though.

Johnny, this is a pretty good start on your shop space. I see a lot of potential in there. You have a nice woodworking bench, an abundance of natural light and it looks like you have plenty of room in there as well.
