Old Projects #1: Garbage Shed

There’s nothing special about this garbage shed really. But it was the first project I did with the router I got for christmas the year before. Looking through the internet I saw that doing half-laps for an outdoor project was not a great idea, but there’s no need for a router if you are just doing butt joints, so ….

Garbage shed

The shingles came from a house down the street. They were replacing the siding shingles and I gathered up a bucket of shingles to roof the shed. If we had walked by an hour earlier or later, I probably would not have gotten the shingles.


It’s definitely not fine wood working, but I really like the way the shingles convert it from a throw away project into something that looks nice. It was a nice project to learn about the router too. I was not worried about how the mistakes would look.
