I made this tool chest from a design out of Woodsmith magazine [link to plansnow]. As my first project in many years, it came out pretty well. As a learning experience it was great. I will never feed from the left on the router table! Remember the zero clearance insert for the table saw when cutting little parts.

There were some really wide rabbets that caused me a lot of headaches. After I was done I saw the trick of leaving the stock wide, cut a wide groove, leaving a stable lip on the fence side of the bit, and then rip to width.

When I get pictures, you probably won’t see the lumpy varnish. From a distance it looks pretty good, but all those warnings not to brush back over varnish now mean a lot more to me.
