I'm a photographer in Baltimore Maryland.
We shoot, demonstrate and teach everything from the latest digital to some of the first photographic processes ever invented! Our favorite process is Wet Plate Photography. It lets us set up a mid 19th century tent, get dressed up and demonstrate Civil War photography without all of that laying in a field after the battle stuff.
Because Wet Plate Photography chemicals are corrosive to pretty much everything (especially wood) very few surviving cameras and other products from the era have survived. Because of this, we started making our own wet plate gear. While I couldn't saw a straight line in a stick of butter, our CNC machine gives me the creative outlet necessary to realize my designs in the 3D realm.
The CNC machine is a ShapeOKO unit, which has had the mechanism heavily modified and was enlarged from maybe 12"x12" to 2x4'.
