Maybe this comes a little late, but I just stumbled upon the pictures so here is my contribution to the recent interest in the brothers Greene. Six years ago I saw a chair they made in furniture book I bought. I always liked the arts & crafts look but this was really special so I set out to build some furniture of my own. I rented the shop I have to this day and started buying equipment. I have a lot of that now, but still not a single piece of finished furniture of my own.
I planned to build several pieces in this style, but only actually partialy designed an entertainment center/bookshelf shown here and a bed I’ll show in the next series.
The table shown here was to support a large TV. It was supposed to be able to float free of the bookcase/shelves that would flank it and another structure was to bridge the bookcase/shelves above the TV and provide a place to display some of my other creations.
Here are at least the vertical supports for the shelves (one side). That is as far as I got on the entertainment center. Next in series is the start of bed – not virtual – using much the same style but in Oak and Mahogany.
