A 76 year-old newbie to woodworking. Started nicely equipping my shop in 2004, and in 2005 suffered a stroke while undergoing heart catherization. Presently have a lot more shop than physical capabilities. Previously involved in computer work since 1957; Pilots liscense ( SELI ) since 1985: Drove tractor-trailer since 1992. Certainly wish that I had some sort of vocational training while I was younger, but hanging in there !!

With a name like Joe ya can’t be all bad. Sorry to hear about your stroke. I didn’t have one of those but they were going to do an angioplasty on me but opted to do a triple-bypass instead when they found my widow-maker artery almost totally plugged. Never had a heart attack or even felt bad but I sure did after they used a chain saw and a bumper jack on my chest. Thought I wasn’t ever going to get better. It sure hurt like he double hockey sticks for a couple of months. That was 2 years ago this month and I think I’m better than I was then. Ya want to trade shops?

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless
tom
