I’m not sure if this would qualify as a mistake or not, but I did learn a lesson. I had been building some cabinets over the last couple of months and they are all finally done. I have an upright that’s about 36w/16d/76h and three wall...

I've been a woodworker at heart for over 20 years now and have used that time to collect tools and a couple decades worth of Shopnotes, Woodworking, and other magazines. Recently, SWMBO and I decided to take classes at the local vo-tech center and I opted for the cabinet building class. It's over now but it really got me going again. I've built a 6 1/2' tall cabinet with four doors and two movable shelfs and also three wall cabinets with three door each. The build is done, now I've gotta sand and stain. Should have that done soon and will post pics and such for my first projects.
As far as tools, I've managed to collect a Rigid contractor table saw, a Jet 6" jointer, a Dewalt thickness planer, a Grizzly floor model drill press, and numerous power tools/nailers. Most recently, I bought a PC 12" dovetail jig, a Ryobi biscuit joiner, and a Kreg pocket-hole jig. I hope to be a lot more active in my woodworking builds. My next step is to learn to start using loose-tenon joinery.
I've been glued to LJ since discovering this site and have already learned tons. Thanks everyone and I look forward to working together in the future.

I may have an opportunity to purchase a used radial arm saw soon and wanted to gather opinions on whether or not I should buy it. I have a decent table saw with a reliable sled and also a good compound miter saw. My shop is in my 3-car garage and ...
I’m tinkering around Youtube last night watching misc woodworking videos and, of course, Norm shows up in one. I lean over to my wife sitting beside me and tell her how much I miss the NYWS and wish it still aired. She replies “I still...
